Meet Dr. Kakis
Dr. George Kakis graduated from National University of Health Sciences (Lombard, IL) as a Doctor of Chiropractic. He earned his bachelor’s degree from North Park Univ. (Chicago, IL) in Exercise Science. After his undergraduate, he was a coach and fitness professional at Mt. Prospect’s own athletic facility, The Gymnastics Shop, and Palatine’s prestigious Midtown Athletic Club. At these places he worked with many different levels of competitive athletes along with recreational fitness enthusiasts striving for greater optimum performance and wellbeing.
His passion has been to help people express themselves through physical means. He chose to express his passion through helping people in exercise, sports performance and basic movement function. What most interested Dr. George in chiropractic care was the simple idea that striving for optimum health and wellness is easier than fighting dis-ease. When in dis-ease, there is significant benefit in seeking natural care until the condition proves to be beyond the body’s natural ability to heal on its own.
Dr. George treats patients as a whole by using techniques such as chiropractic manipulation, arthrostim, functional movement training, soft tissue therapies, electric therapies and acupuncture to get patients back to activities of daily living without pain or dysfunction. He has post graduate studies in the areas of Motion Palpation Technique, McKenzie A, B and C, Koren Specific Technique, Acupuncture, Cupping, Instrument assisted soft tissue work, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), Quantum Neurology and more.
He grew up in Mt. Prospect and is ecstatic to now serve the community that has been so great to him throughout his life. He participated in soccer, wrestling and gymnastics at Prospect High School. He attends St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Des Planes where his family has been active since his youth.
When Dr. George is not in the office, he is doing one of many different activities. He loves the outdoors, cycling, hiking, traveling, camping, hunting/fishing, shooting, cross training, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and spending time with friends and family.
